One of the oldest Art Forms, Wood Carving, is common to most cultures.
Both manual skill and artistic feeling are essential for the production of any good piece of hand carving. Manual skill requires knowing the shapes and uses of carving tools and putting this knowledge into practise. Artistic feeling is largely instinctive.
The tools and the methods are exactly the same as they were centuries ago, and cannot be done faster. Machine carving cannot be compared to hand carving. It’s like comparing photographs to oil paintings.
Our hand carving is still done the old way, using the same tools, and the same methods used by early master craftsman.
